Zhang Changpingis a Professorin theSchool of HistoryatWuhan University. He formerly served as aResearch Fellowat the Hubei Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeologyand held visiting professorshipsat institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Princeton University,and Harvard University. His research focuses on Shang and Zhou archaeology and bronzes of the Chinese Bronze Age.He is currently leading field archaeological excavations at the Panlongcheng Siteand others.His publications include Lineages of Bronze Vessels: Studies on Chinese Bronzes Collected Overseas and in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
